Sonys new BRS-200 switcher is designed for ease of use and system flexibility in live event and presentation applications.

The switcher can be used in either standard- or high-definition configurations, and is ideal for a range of applications including staging, conferences, concerts and broadcast production.

The switcher has a multi-viewing function, allowing a single monitor to display all input signals, including preview and program via SDI and/or DVI-I outputs. This minimizes the number of displays required so users can check all pictures simultaneously on the same monitor.

The new switcher offers four SDI inputs/outputs and one DVI output as standard. Users can customize the system for different input configurations by installing several option boards. As a result, the BRS-200 can provide a maximum of eight SDI and one DVI-I inputs, and four SDI and two DVI-I outputs.

With these multiple inputs and outputs, the switcher enables image sources to be recorded on a deck and played, for example, on two monitors and one projector simultaneously.

The BRS-200 switcher can also control Sonys BRC Series of cameras from a remote location. Pan/tilt/zoom, iris, and focus can all be controlled using the switchers joystick and dials.
