Libec HFMP is a two-stage Hands-Free Monopod added recently to the companys product range. This monopod is specifically designed to support heavier equipment for professional videographers mostly. It has a thicker centre pole, stronger clamps, and bigger, locking feet than other monopods.
The monopod has three basic modes of operation. The first is action mode, which is the way one would typically expect to use a monopod. Then there is the locking mode, with the centre column locked vertically and the hands free operation.
Switching between modes is very easy and practical, thanks to a handy foot switch. Pressing down once it locks the monopod, and if you want to release it you just press one more. This is very handy if someone just needs to leave it for a few seconds to switch lenses.
The monopod is contructed with aluminium, has a payload of 8Kg and the maximum height is 1.76 meters. The maximum payload does not gurantee the HFMPs free-stand position, it only gaurantees the monopods maximum payload when using as a monopod. It has a 3/8” head attachment screw so anyone could attach a video head such as Libecs TH-X video head or any third-party flat base head.
A transport bag is included with the HFMP but there is also the Libec HFMP KIT that has the Libec TH-Xs video head included along with the transport bag.
